A typical day

You will spend most of your time with your tutor and the family, talking in English. Actvities will be tailored to your requirements but also have to fit around our family life, so a typical weekday could look like this:

  • breakfast
  • one, two or three (more or less formal) lessons at home (probably interrupted by mid-morning snack!)
  • lunch
  • visit a local ruined castle and learn some history
  • back home for coffee/tea and cake
  • free time
  • dinner
  • watch a film in the home cinema (we have a large selection of English language films)

…or like this:

  • breakfast
  • go for a “walk and talk” in the local nature reserve
  • back home for lunch
  • visit one of the Borders towns, find a tea room for afternoon tea
  • back home for free time/dinner
  • free time

..or like this:

  • breakfast
  • lessons at the kitchen table
  • chill out in the garden
  • lunch
  • visit a local country house
  • back for coffee and cake
  • free time
  • dinner
  • play games with the family/free time
