The Gardeners Cottage was a wonderful place to stay while I was working in Duns. Well equipped with everything I needed & more. A comfy & cozy place to relax after a long days work. I stayed Monday - Friday for over 6 months. It was the perfect spot. Kathi was great & I felt spoilt with home made cakes on arrival. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place. Many thanks D

After a long drive, and a warm greeting by Kathi, he first thing we needed was a long hot soak and a good night's sleep. It is safe to say if that is what you are looking for you will find it here. The bed is simply marvelous, so comfy that you honestly never want to leave it. The entire cottage is so quaint and peaceful, it was truly an astounding place to unwind for a weekend. It is also nicely placed to explore Northumberland and lower Scotland with it being so close to Bamburgh, Alnwick, and Berwick. I would highly recommended the Gardener's Lodging to anyone. The cake was also amazing. Thank You.

If you are on holiday in another country and you find a place that feels like “home away from home” you will want to go back there. So I did just that. I spent a week in the ”Gardeners lodge” in the beginning of May this year and when I decided to go back to Scotland in September, I of course chose the same place to stay. This time for two weeks. It’s a very charming place, with everything you need and want inside. Lots of books and brochures of Scotland, a very comfortable bed (that I wouldn’t mind to have at home) and everything you need in the kitchen. Kath and Eric will help you with everything you need and the children are charming. In one sentence-Perfec

We came from the Frankfurt am Main area to the North of England to visit Uhtred’s Bebbanburg, today known as Bamburgh Castle. Our stay was with Kathis “Gardener’s Lodge”… We were really impressed what a lovely and beautiful furnished place “Gardener’s Lodge” is. After a warm welcome in the early evening with tasty self-made cheese scones by Kathi we spent two relaxing sightseeing days. The Lodge had everything we needed and we for sure didn’t miss the TV and spent the evenings reading or relaxing on the couch for a change. Since we booked on a self-catering basis it was no problem to get stuff for breakfast and dinner at the nearby co-operative market in Duns by feet. In summary “Gardener’s Lodge” is a very lovely and quiet place to stay and we enjoyed our short trip to Scotland and England very much. Thank you for a good time.

Arriving after a 5 hour drive we were welcomed with a warm reception and a freshly baked chocolate cake and the offer of free range eggs. We were a family of two adults and two children and Kathi and Eric and their children engaged with us from the outset and our kids had a fabulous time playing together. The cottage was beautifully decorated and felt cosy and homely and was immaculately presented and spotlessly clean. The bath tub was heavenly and there were plenty of extra bedding and blankets to keep us all warm. The cottage has an eclectic collection of books for all ages and tastes and there is a cupboard full of games to help entertain a family. Storage was ample too. The cottage had everything you'd need to have a comfortable stay and it is clear that every little detail was fully thought of. We had a lovely stay and would love to stay again. There is a country park within moments walk from the cottage, there is a castle, a lake and woodlands that provide a home to a prodigious amount of wild life including birds and deer. If you decide to go there early in the morning you will be rewarded with the most amazing soundscapes created by the birds that inhabit the area.
