Our guest room, which we have nicknamed “Butler’s Quarters” (although the house is not really big enough to have ever warranted a butler and this is most likely to have been the housekeeper’s room), is located in the basement of the house, recently refurbished with underfloor heating, Wifi, a seating area with table, two chairs and (west facing) window seat, as well as a chaise longue, a wardrobe and a chest of drawers. There is no TV but a the room has a DAB music system with Bluetooth. The shower room is across the corridor (we supply bathrobes) – a wet room, also with underfloor heating. An informal continental breakfast is served upstairs in the family kitchen. The bed is a super king size bed, but can be split up for two people who don’t want to be quite so cosy, please let us know.
A continental breakfast is served at a time to suit you (check out is at 11), and usually consists of fresh croissants, baguette (for toast), fresh seasonal fruit, cereals, fruit juice, milk, yoghurt, jams and marmalade. We can do porridge or Scotch pancakes if you let us know the knight before. We don’t normally have sausages or bacon in the house. Also, please inform us of any food allergies.
Allergy sufferers please note that we have four cats. Also, our pillows and cushions are feather/down filled, if this is a problem, please advise us in advance. We do not generally accept pets, sorry.
Guests are invited to explore our large garden with chickens and ducks roaming freely.
We have cats and although they are not allowed in the guest accommodation we cannot guarantee the areas to be 100% free of cat hair. We recently had a Ukrainian refugee family of six staying with us, the guest room was the girls’ dorm and they were rather cat obsessed!
