Today's guests in our self-catering annexe are staying as a birthday treat, so I couldn't resist making our "highays and holidays" version of my chocolate cake, with apricot jam in the middle and chocolate on top.After six years of living here I still really enjoy walking into the annexe kitchen, with its large cupboards, pine table for 6, Belfast sink, recently installed iroko worktop, door to the garden and window with a view to the bird feeders.
